Knoll Gardens Foundation visits our Step Outside group

In Jolly Good Company has been invited to enjoy exclusive access at Knoll Gardens by The Knoll Gardens Foundation on Tuesday, 22nd July. Rowena Jecock, Chair of Knoll Gardens Foundation Trustees recently spent an afternoon with us at our Step Outside Gardening group.

Rowena brought Julia of White Sheep Projects along with her to join in the jollity. They wanted the opportunity to get to know our team and volunteers, and meet our lovely guests and their carers. This was so that they could make our visit to Knoll Gardens as enjoyable for everyone as possible – how lovely is that?

We also welcomed photographer Clare Johnson (who took these gorgeous photos) to our plots. She is building a beautiful portfolio by taking some shots at our allotment group. Clare plans to revisit us at harvest time in September.

We have had a fantastic response from our Jolly guests for the Knoll Gardens visit, and all the places for this visit are now taken. We are very grateful to Knoll Gardens Foundation for this opportunity. Anni and Max from the Jolly Crew will also be attending, and we look forward to the photos and stories from this lovely day out.

Neil Lucas, Director of Knoll Gardens, and Rowena will accompany us on a special walk around the gardens and tell us about the wonderful plants and wildlife. Afterwards, we will have the chance to wander through the gardens at leisure.

Rowena and Julia messaged us after their visit to tell us what a special project they felt Step Outside was and to say how much they’d enjoyed meeting everyone. They also said they enjoyed the delicious, freshly dug potatoes and broad beans that we gave them – Julia had them for her supper that evening!

Thanks also go to our own Anni, we can now display the beautiful blooms growing at our allotments at our other groups and share them with our guests. Anni has also just picked all the blackcurrants (before the birds got to them), which will be magicked into a jewel bright jam, for us to enjoy with scones and cream at the opening of our new polytunnel – yum!

I’m a web designer and I love creating beautiful, affordable websites that work hard for small businesses. Simply put, a business needs a website to reach more customers. It needs to look good but it also needs to work hard. That’s where I can help, I build cost-effective, good looking websites that are both mobile and google friendly.
