Support us
We get by with a little help from our friends…
We really rely on the donations from our guests who attend our groups. Whilst there is no set charge we encourage people to give as much as they can afford.
We are a registered charity and we constantly need to raise funds to subsidise our Jolly Days. It currently costs us £50 per guest for a Jolly Day and £70 per head when lunch is supplied. Thank you very much for all your donations. It’s so important to us as without them we couldn’t make this happen. It’s easy to donate, simply click on the button below and it’ll take you directly to our Localgiving page.
Ways you can support us
Make a Donation
If you’d like to make a one-off donation, we would be so grateful for your support. It’s true what they say… every little really does help. Your kind donation will help us continue creating warm, welcoming Jolly Days for our guests.
A Monthly Donation
Becoming a monthly donor helps support our work throughout the year. Your regular gift allows us to plan ahead and continue running our Jolly Days, helping bring friendship, laughter and connection to those who need it most.
Donate in Memory
Making a donation in memory of someone special is a beautiful way to celebrate their life. Your gift weill help us continue to bring companionship, joy and connection to people in Dorset who may otherwise feel lonely or isolated.
A Funeral Collection
Holding a collection at a funeral or memorial is a thoughtful way to honour someone’s life while helping others. Donations given in their memory will support our Jolly Days and help continue a legacy of kindness and community.
Leave a Legacy
Leaving a gift in your will is a special way to support our work in the future. By remembering us in this way, you help ensure our Jolly Days continue to bring friendship and companionship to generations to come.
Fundraising
Some wonderful people have organised events, taken on challenges and raised funds to support what we do. If you’d like to do the same, we’d be very grateful. Every effort means we can welcome more Jolly guests.
Our wonderful 2026 fundraisers
Annie Walton
We’re very grateful to share that our friend Annie Walton ran the Moors Valley Half Marathon Trail in Dorset on 25th January as part of the Moors Valley Wildwood Trail Series, to raise money for In Jolly Good Company.
In total Annie raised an impressive £855, which will pay for seventeen artists to visit our Jolly Days and hold creative sessions with our guests..
Annie is a wonderful cello player and teacher, and I’ve been lucky to be one of her pupils for the past few years. During that time, she’s told me how much she’s noticed the dedication and hard work that goes into what we do at the Jollies, and how meaningful that has been to her. That’s why she chose to support our work.
Thank you so much, Annie.
Luke Ballard
We’re delighted to share that local long-distance runner Luke will be fundraising for In Jolly Good Company again this year. We’ll be sharing more details soon, and cheering him on every step of the way.
In 2025, Luke took on two incredible challenges in support of our work, inspired by his own family’s experience of dementia. In May, he completed the 56km Ultralight Trail Snowdonia in 11 hours and 30 minutes, raising £2,370. Later in the year, he ran solo across Dorset from Lyme Regis to Tollard Royal, an 18-hour effort supported by friends who joined him along the route.
Altogether, Luke raised an amazing £3,450.
Shoreline IT
We’re thrilled that Darren and Helen Walmsley from Shoreline IT in Wimborne will be supporting In Jolly Good Company again this year by organising more fundraising events – stay tuned for more details. We’re so grateful for their continued support.
Last year they hosted two fantastic community events. The first was a hugely successful quiz night and raffle at Wimborne Football Club in June, with a great turnout and some amazing raffle prizes.
Their second event was a Fundraising Cricket Day at Colehill Sports and Social Club, where local businesses competed on the pitch and the community came together to enjoy a free, family-friendly day.
Fundraisers who’ve helped us in the past…
Thank you Julie
Julie Foulkes completed the National Three Peaks Challenge on June 21st 2024 at the grand old age of 63. The ‘Peaky Climbers’ as her team called themselves, completed the challenge in 24 hrs 36 minutes and arrived home at just before 8 pm exhausted after very little sleep from Thursday night and feeling very stiff but very proud.
Well done Julie, we are so proud of you and a massive thank you for rasing funds for us, it’s very much appreciated.
Thank you, Graham
We are hugely grateful to Graham who celebrated his 60th birthday by cycling 125 laps of the village and completing a total of 100 miles to raise money for In Jolly Good Company and the Salisbury Samaritans. we received £1,030 in total with gift aid, which is incredible.
Thank you to each and everyone of you who donated and supported both us and Graham, it is very much appreciated. This donation enables us to continue with our hugely successful ‘Jolly Postal Service’ which is a free service.
Thank you Maddie
Maddie Rock walked the South West Coast path from Minehead to Poole and recorded her journey by painting along the way. She’s an incredible artist. The 630-mile adventure took her a total of 71 days to complete.
During her walk many people asked her if she was raising money for charity and expressed a wish to make a donation. Having given this much thought she very kindly decided to raise funds for us. We were over the moon and very grateful. Thank you, Maddie, you really do ‘Rock’.
We are very grateful for the support of the following organisations:
Without the support of our main funder the National Lottery, we would not still be up and running. This year we benefited from additional support from Dorset Council, Dorset Community Foundation, Alice Ellen Cooper Dean Charitable Foundation, Fine Family Foundation, NHS Charities Together, Valentine Trust, Talbot Village Trust and Ferndown and Parley Rotary CIO and as well as Tesco, Waitrose, Dorset Tea and Lush. We have been helped enormously by Shoreline IT who have fundraised for us and Luke Ballard who has undertaken some huge running challenges on our behalf. All these organisations and people value the support we are providing in our communities, and we are so grateful to them all.
