This week is Volunteers’ Week and we want to give a huge shout out to our amazing Jolly Vollies! Quite simply, we couldn’t do what we do without them. From supporting our guests at activities and sessions to helping at our Jolly Days and our Step Outside allotments at Kingston Lacy, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Their kindness, time, energy and encouragement help us support so many people in our community.

Each year, two of our volunteers are nominated for a special thank you through the Room to Reward scheme. Room to Reward is a unique charity that works with hotels and hospitality venues to give inspirational volunteers a well-earned break away in recognition of the time they give to others.

This year, two of our lovely Jolly Vollies, Sue and Pat, enjoyed memorable stays thanks to the scheme.

Sue enjoyed a relaxing break at Calcot Manor & Spa in Tetbury with a close friend. She said:

“Just to say a huge thank you for the Room to Reward gift. My friend and I had a memorable and relaxing time at Calcot Spa last week. It was even more than we had expected, and we left feeling completely relaxed and rested, with nothing to do but simply enjoy the experience. Having the opportunity to get away with a close friend, relax, and spend quality time together was invaluable, uplifting, and fun. Receiving the RtR award was a total surprise because, as a volunteer, you do what you do because you want to – not to receive anything in return. Thank you again for such a thoughtful and generous gift.”

Pat and her daughter Anna enjoyed a stay at Sea Containers London. Anna shared:

“Mum and I had a wonderful stay at Sea Containers London! We chose the hotel as it was perfectly located for sightseeing, with the OXO Tower and Borough Market just a short stroll away. We loved the rooftop cocktails with stunning views across the city. What really made our stay special was the impeccable service – every member of the team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensure everything was perfect. It was a memorable couple of days away! Room to Reward were a pleasure to deal with, and the process from start to finish was a breeze.”
