A pitch perfect morning

We had such a lovely morning at our Jolly Shaftesbury Day when we were joined by the Shaftesbury Community Choir. What a special morning filled with music and good company – just how we like it.

The choir treated us to a brilliant mix of songs with plenty of familiar favourites from My Fair Lady, Oliver and The King and I, along with classics like Oh What a Beautiful Morning, Edelweiss and It’s a Long Way to Tipperary. It wasn’t long before our Jolly guests were joining in and singing along with gusto.

David, the choir’s musical director, made it really fun and interactive with rounds, a bit of harmony, and plenty of encouragement for everyone to join in. It didn’t matter if people knew all the words or just wanted to hum along; it was all part of it.

Of course, no Jolly morning would be complete without some treats. Our wonderful volunteers, Mel and Bridget, kept everyone topped up with homemade cakes and shortbread to enjoy with their cuppa. There was lots of chatting and laughter, and it was lovely that members of the choir stayed afterwards to spend time with everyone. We’re very grateful to the choir for coming along and sharing their time with us, and we very much hope we’ll see them again soon.
