What a treat of a day!
We were delighted to welcome Tilly and Sam from The Lighthouse Arts Centre, in Poole visiting as part of the Arts Council–funded 'Freedom Project: Then and Now', celebrating the VE 80th anniversary.
Artist Heidi Steller is creating a beautiful woven boat, a symbol of hope, remembrance, and creativity, to be displayed outside The Lighthouse in Poole on 7th November. Our group is thrilled to be contributing to this wonderful community artwork, alongside many others across Dorset.
This afternoon, we got busy making felt flowers to be woven into the final boat. The room was full of chatter, smiles, and happy concentration. As our lovely volunteer Sally said, “You could hear the concentration!”
We can’t wait to see our flowers set sail in Heidi’s woven boat on 7th November at The Lighthouse, Poole, carrying with them the spirit of creativity, remembrance, and togetherness that makes In Jolly Good Company so special.
