Remembering our lovely volunteer, Jennie

A truly international gathering of Jolly guests came together to remember our lovely volunteer, Jennie Jones who passed away unexpectedly last week. Our guests (from Norway, Greece, France, Scotland, Italy, and Australia – as well as closer to home) enjoyed a joyous and uplifting morning of singing led by musician Paula Fleming to honour Jennie’s memory.

Jennie first came to our Jolly Days with her husband Dick and when he passed away, over a year ago, she kindly came back to volunteer to help us. Jennie was a powerhouse of energy and positivity and spent her life helping people. She even made it possible for Jolly Shaftesbury to go on meeting in a Covid Safe way during the pandemic in a small café garden near her house.  Jennie and Dick were always beautifully turned out, often in matching colours they both loved music and were fabulous dancers.

Jennie had made close friendships within our group and will be terribly missed by all.

Rest in peace – dear friend.
