As the days get warmer, we wanted to tell you about our summer events and fundraisers so you can get the dates in your diary. Your support means so much, and every event helps us raise much-needed funds to help keep the Jollies up and running.

Summer Evenings in the Garden

Kingston Lacy Allotments Growing Spaces

Do come along and spend some relaxed time with us in our beautiful garden. We’d love to welcome you, show you around, and share what we’ve been working on, including our new pond and polytunnel, which we’re really excited about.

There’ll be drinks and light refreshments available to enjoy, as well as music. We’re asking for donations on the door, and all are very welcome.

Join us for Tea

Sunday 9th August, 2.30 – 5 pm
Wimborne St Giles Village Hall

As well as plenty of delicious homemade cakes and sandwiches to tuck into at our Jolly Tea, there will be a raffle, Anni’s plant stall, The Knitting Angels stall, and more to browse and enjoy. We’d really welcome a few more bakers and helping hands on the day, so if you’re able to lend a hand, please do get in touch. We’d also be very grateful for any plant donations you might be able to offer.

Lydia Laughing and Friends

Friday 25th September, doors open 7 pm Wimborne St Giles Church, BH21 5LZ

Come and enjoy an uplifting evening of beautiful harmonies from the acclaimed London-based folk band, Lydia Laughing, along with special guest support. Set in a stunning setting, it promises to be a truly enchanting night of music and atmosphere. Tickets are £15 on the door, which includes a drink and light refreshments. There’ll also be a half-time raffle for a bit of extra fun.

We’ve moved!

Our Beyond the Lines’, ageing creatively, exhibition has moved to Dorchester Hospital. It’s on the North Wing Level 1 (in the approach to Damers Restaurant), where it will be on display until July 20th. Do pop in and see the outstanding creativity of our guests who have taken beautiful black and white photographic portraits of each other. Some of the pictures also have audio clips, so that you can hear fascinating interviews.

Become a Jolly Good Friend

We’d be so grateful if you would consider helping your small local charity to continue to support older people in your community. £5 a month pays for seeds at our Step Outside Allotment at Kingston Lacy, £10 a month pays for a meal at a Jolly Day or as part of our winter lunch delivery service, £20 plus helps us to provide creative opportunities and entertainment at our Jolly Days and supports local artists and musicians.
