JUNE NEWSLETTER

This month’s newsletter kicks off with a tribute to my lovely Mum, June Dennis, who died very suddenly and unexpectedly on 29th March, at the wonderful age of 93. We were lucky enough to be with her and Dad the day before she died and we all had fish and chips together, which she declared were the ‘best ever’, I feel very grateful for that.

June Dennis, formerly Cornelius, grew up in the Somerset countryside and enjoyed nature, particularly flowers, her whole life. She was also a lover of music, learning the piano when she was young and she always listened to classical pieces in her kitchen. My brother Mat and I inherited her passion; Mat moved to LA in the late 1980s to study contemporary music and I love playing cello. My son James is a musician in London, and my daughter Molly has a beautiful voice.

Mum taught us how to be kind and think of others by example. This came naturally to her, and it is a legacy that my brother and I do our best to continue.

Grief is a strange experience, and I have found that it has made me rather ‘muddle headed’, so if I have missed any messages, made mistakes, or turned up to appointments at the wrong time, you will know why!

I hope that you enjoy these lovely pictures of our Mum, they were taken by our amazing and talented Dad, Brian Dennis, who is doing his very best to adjust. I am so proud of you, Dad!

Jolly Music Bingo

Another wonderful evening to add to your diary – a fun-filled fundraising Music Bingo night and raffle in support of In Jolly Good Company. Expect plenty of laughter, great company, a lively atmosphere, and the chance to win some fantastic raffle prizes – all while helping to support a very special cause. Whether you’re feeling competitive or simply fancy a cheerful night out with friends, everyone is warmly welcome.

Eyes down at 8 pm. Tickets are £10 per person.

Time for Tea

Sunday 9th August, 2.30 – 5 pm
Wimborne St Giles Village Hall

As well as plenty of delicious homemade cakes and sandwiches to tuck into at our Jolly Tea, there will be a raffle, Anni’s plant stall, The Knitting Angels stall, and more to browse and enjoy. We’d really welcome a few more bakers and helping hands on the day, so if you’re able to lend a hand, please do get in touch. We’d also be very grateful for any plant donations you might be able to offer. This is one of our major fundraising events of the year, so please do come along and support us.
